Cook/Meal Prep Specialist - Christian Pentecostal After School

Location: Irvington, NJ

CPAS, a nurturing and inclusive childcare facility, is seeking a dedicated and experienced **Cook/Meal Prep Specialist** to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while adhering to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 13 years.

- Create weekly menus that meet state guidelines and nutritional requirements.

- Manage inventory, order food supplies, and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.

- Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including SafeServ requirements.

- Collaborate with staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.

- Ensure timely delivery of meals and snacks in coordination with the classroom schedules.

-Prepare for staff meetings and special events with setup and catering experience.

Qualifications:

- Experience as a cook in a childcare, school, or similar setting preferred.

- **Current SafeServ Certification** is required.

- Knowledge of child nutrition, portion sizes, and allergy management.

- Familiarity with health and safety guidelines for food preparation.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

- Ability to interact positively with children and staff.

-Strong attention to sanitary guidelines, area cleanliness, kitchen area cleaning and organization

-Professional appearance and strong attention to detail
