About us

Amica Software Inc. dba Amica Systems

A manufacturer of digital printers, ink and accessories for industrial use.

Ink Tester

This position will be involved in testing the formulations and performance of the ink that is produced on site. This person will support the R&D effort.

Job Responsibilities

R&D Ink Testing: Execute performance tests on experimental UV and Water-Based ink formulations, focusing on viscosity, surface tension, print setting, and particle size.

Procedure Development: Assist in creating and documenting standardized testing procedures (SOPs) to measure ink stability, curing efficiency, adhesion, and drying behavior.

Inkjet Operations: Set up and operate industrial inkjet systems to test ink performance on various substrates, evaluating adhesion, color accuracy, and jetting reliability.

Reporting: Maintain detailed logs and write clear technical reports summarizing test results for the R&D chemistry team.

Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of test rigs, print heads, and lab equipment (e.g., rheometers, UV curing stations).

Qualifications & Experience

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. We value practical experience and certifications over formal degrees.

Required Experience: 3+ years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or print production environment.

Specialized Experience:

Proven background as an Inkjet Operator or Press Technician.
Direct experience handling and testing UV-curable and Water-Based inks.

Technical Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues on industrial printers.
Experience with color management or print quality inspection.
Comfortable using digital tools for data entry and technical reporting.1-year experience in a mixing environment is a plus but not required.
Willingness and ability to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear during working hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Working in warehouse and chemical production environment with UV process fumes and vapors.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
