About the Program

The Point Global Logistics Academy is a structured, early-career training program designed for recent college graduates who are eager to build a foundation in freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain operations.

Point Global Logistics is a freight-forwarding company that supports the global movement of goods through air, ocean, and land transportation, working closely with customers, carriers, warehouses, and international partners to keep supply chains moving efficiently.

This program is ideal for candidates who have an interest in growing in the logistics industry, motivated to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on exposure across multiple departments for further career advancement.

Program Overview

As an Operations Trainee, you will participate in a comprehensive, rotational training program that provides exposure to key functional areas of the business. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical knowledge of how freight-forwarding operations function day-to-day and how different departments collaborate to support customers and shipments.

This is a learning-focused role, not a senior or standalone operations position.

Rotational Training Areas

During the program, trainees will gain exposure to several of the following departments:

Operations (Air, Ocean, and Land Freight)

Learn how shipments are managed from origin to destination, including customer communication, carrier coordination, and shipment tracking.

Warehousing

Gain insight into inventory handling, warehouse coordination, and how warehousing supports freight movement.

Imports

Learn the basics of import documentation, compliance processes, and coordination with customs and partners.

Pricing

Understand how freight is quoted, cost structures, and how pricing supports sales and operations.

Projects / Customer Service

Support customer accounts, assist with special projects, and learn how service teams manage client relationships.

Finance

Gain exposure to billing, invoicing, reconciliations, and the financial flow of freight transactions.

End-to-end shipment lifecycle management
Cross-department collaboration in a logistics environment
Professional communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Practical business and operational skills applicable across logistics, supply chain, and operations roles

This program is designed to provide a well-rounded skill set that prepares trainees for future roles within the organization.
