About the Role

The Protein Repack / Supply Chain Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating and supporting the daily activities of the Protein Repack operation in a cold-storage food distribution environment.

This role provides frontline leadership to team members responsible for safely and efficiently sorting, portioning, labeling, packaging, and preparing frozen protein products for distribution.

The Operations Lead helps direct workflow, supports training and onboarding, monitors productivity and quality standards, and ensures compliance with food safety, inventory control, and workplace safety requirements.

This position requires strong attention to detail, leadership ability, dependability, and the ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.

Key Responsibilities

Repack Operations

Coordinate and participate in daily protein repack activities, including sorting, portioning, labeling, packaging, and preparing poultry and other protein products for distribution.

Assist in directing workflow and prioritizing daily production activities to meet operational goals.

Support team members during daily production and help ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Serve as backup support to the Supervisor by assisting with routine operational issues, workflow adjustments, and team guidance.

Support onboarding and training of new team members on production processes, food handling, safety expectations, and cleanliness standards.

Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.

Move products and inventory throughout the facility while following established safety procedures.

Quality, Safety & Inventory

Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.

Monitor product quality, labeling accuracy, packaging standards, and overall production accuracy.

Support inventory control processes, including product tracking, inventory counts, and proper communication of product or equipment concerns.

Identify and communicate opportunities to improve safety, productivity, efficiency, and overall workflow.

Promote a team culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bilingual English / Spanish required.

Previous warehouse, food handling, production, supply chain, or cold-storage experience preferred.
Previous leadership, team lead, trainer, or workflow support experience preferred.
Basic understanding of food safety, cleanliness, and warehouse safety standards.
Forklift or pallet jack experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and internal departments.
Ability to prioritize tasks and support daily production goals.
Must be comfortable working in cold or frozen environments for extended periods.

Work Conditions

Cold and frozen food environment.
Exposure to refrigerated areas and varying warehouse temperatures.
Must be comfortable working around frozen poultry and other protein products.
Fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
Standard hazards associated with people, equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and product movement.
Must follow all safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment, including cold-weather gear and safety shoes when required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, squat, stoop, reach, push, pull, and move around as needed to complete job tasks.
Ability to routinely lift 25 lbs.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs as part of daily work.
Ability to work in cold or frozen environments for extended periods.
Ability to read, write, see, hear, and speak clearly to ensure accurate documentation and effective communication.
