Zipline Guide Job Description

*Please note this is a seasonal, part-time position running until October 31, 2026*

Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Guide is to manage the inherent risks of the aerial adventure and low challenge course elements. Staff will be trained to properly orient, facilitate and lead guests through the zip lines, rock climbing, aerial bridges and low challenge course elements while providing a safe, enjoyable and engaging experience.

Guide duties and responsibilities:

Report to work well groomed, in uniform, and ready to work at scheduled time.

Fit customers in harnesses, helmets, and gloves.

Conduct a safety orientation talk and demonstration.

Properly instruct, demonstrate and guide guests through the course.

Maintain the highest level of service to our guests, providing them instructions as needed.

Converse with guests about local history, geology, flora, and fauna.

Report any incidents and complete accident reports when necessary.

Use positive, open, and appropriate communication with guests and staff.

Inspect and maintain equipment in a neat and orderly manner on a daily basis.

Complete equipment and rope use logs on a daily basis.

Handle and store ropes and equipment properly.

Promote future zipline and challenge course trips and retail sales.

Minimum Skill Requirements:

Must have good communication skills and be a positive team player.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, exhibit patience if necessary, and be able to interact with different types of people.

Must have the ability to display sound judgment and discretion.

Must be able to work under pressure.

Requires organizational skills and time management.

Able to successfully complete ACCT Level 1, Site specific training or possess current ACCT Level 1 or higher certification.

Physical Abilities required:

Must be over 18 years of age.

Must be reasonably fit, and have full hand dexterity and full range of overhead arm motions.

Must not have a fear of heights nor prone to panic attacks or anxiety.

Must be able to work outdoors for long hours in diverse weather conditions.

Must be able to engage in strenuous activities such as hiking, climbing, and lifting.

Additional information:

All staff must meet the participant requirements (weigh between 50-275lbs). During training and work hours closed-toe shoes are required, and staff hired will be required to wear staff shirts.
