Fiber Optic Buried Drop Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fiber Optic Buried Drop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of buried fiber optic drop lines to residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong work ethic, technical proficiency, and the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic buried drop lines from main distribution points to customer premises.

· Utilize specialized tools and equipment to bury fiber optic lines safely and efficiently.

· Read and interpret work orders, maps, and schematics to ensure proper installation.

· Operate excavation and boring equipment as needed to complete installations with zero impact to existing infrastructure.

· Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

· Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation and maintenance procedures.

· Ability to place aerial drop fiber optic cable.

· Maintain accurate records of work completed and submit reports as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Previous experience in fiber optic installation

· Ability to climb telephone poles with hooks or ladder.

· Ability to operate a bucket truck.

· Familiarity with underground construction methods, including vibratory and open trenching.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy equipment, and perform manual labor.

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with utility locating equipment.
