▶ ABOUT THE ROLE:
Agency 29 is looking for an experienced Account Director to serve as the trusted day-to-day leader for a portfolio of our key client relationships.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing leadership position. Someone who can build trust with executive teams, navigate complex marketing initiatives, communicate proactively, and ensure clients consistently receive the strategic partnership and exceptional service Agency 29 is known for.
You'll partner closely with our strategists, creatives, and leadership team to keep projects moving, identify opportunities for client growth, protect account profitability, and solve problems before they become someone else's. While you'll contribute to strategic conversations, your primary responsibility is leading client relationships with confidence, professionalism, and accountability.
▶ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Client Leadership
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of key client accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with CEOs, executive directors, founders, and senior marketing leaders.
- Lead client meetings, navigate challenging conversations, and provide thoughtful guidance that strengthens long-term partnerships.
- Ensure every client experiences a responsive, proactive, and highly collaborative Agency 29 partnership.
Account Leadership & Growth
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through strategic recommendations and additional services.
- Partner with agency leadership to develop scopes of work, proposals, and recommendations for inbound opportunities and account expansion.
- Maintain a deep understanding of each client's business objectives and align Agency 29's work accordingly.
Account Performance & Operations
- Own account profitability through thoughtful scope management and financial oversight.
- Forecast resources and collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and delivered successfully.
- Anticipate risks, resolve challenges early, and keep projects moving efficiently.
- Partner with project management and creative teams to balance quality, timelines, and budgets.
Strategic Collaboration
- Contribute to strategic planning discussions and provide thoughtful input throughout client engagements.
- Collaborate with Agency 29's strategy and creative teams to ensure every deliverable supports the client's business objectives.
- Translate client feedback into actionable direction for internal teams.
Team Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative, positive working environment across the agency.
- Share knowledge, mentor teammates informally, and contribute to the continued growth of the account services function.
- As Agency 29 grows, this role is expected to evolve to include formal people leadership responsibilities.

▶ QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in account management, client services, marketing, or a related field, preferably within an agency environment.
- Proven success managing complex client relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience owning account profitability, scope management, and resource forecasting.
- Strong project leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- High emotional intelligence and sound professional judgment.
- Experience contributing to proposals, client growth initiatives, and strategic planning.
