Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced healthcare Account Manager to manage complex client relationships, oversee revenue cycle performance, resolve operational issues, and coordinate improvement initiatives across departments.

The selected candidate may be hired as either:

Account Manager III – Senior Account Manager
Account Manager IV – Principal/Strategic Account Manager

The level will be based on experience, independence, technical expertise, and the complexity of accounts the candidate is qualified to manage.

Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned healthcare client accounts and serve as the primary point of contact.
Lead client meetings, performance reviews, and operational discussions.
Review revenue cycle reports, KPIs, trends, and account performance.
Identify risks, workflow issues, and performance improvement opportunities.
Develop and monitor corrective action and improvement plans.
Coordinate issue resolution across billing, coding, credentialing, collections, payment posting, denials, and related functions.
Manage escalated client concerns and difficult conversations.
Provide clients with recommendations, updates, and action plans.
Track commitments, deadlines, and follow-up items.
Support client retention and long-term account success.

Account Manager III – Senior Account Manager

Typically requires:

Four to seven years of healthcare revenue cycle, operations, or account management experience.
Experience independently managing complex client relationships.
Strong knowledge of revenue cycle operations, reporting, KPIs, and workflow improvement.
Ability to resolve most client and operational concerns with minimal escalation.
Experience managing medium to large physician groups, multi-provider practices, or other complex accounts.

Account Manager IV – Principal/Strategic Account Manager

Typically requires:

Seven or more years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle, operations, and account management experience.
Extensive experience managing strategic, high-value, multi-location, or multi-specialty clients.
Proven success leading client implementations, operational improvements, or major account initiatives.
Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
Advanced knowledge of practice management systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, reporting tools, and revenue cycle workflows.
Ability to independently resolve highly complex issues and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and leadership.
Experience mentoring developing Account Managers and supporting account management best practices.

Qualifications

Strong healthcare revenue cycle and medical billing knowledge.
Demonstrated client relationship management experience.
Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant healthcare systems.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field preferred.

Candidates who do not meet all requirements for the Principal/Strategic level may still be considered for the Senior Account Manager level.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
