Job Overview
We are seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Property Accountant to support the financial management of our real estate portfolio. This role is central to maintaining accurate reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding strong financial controls across a diverse set of assets.

The ideal candidate will bring a rigorous approach to accounting operations within a property management environment, contributing to timely reporting, portfolio transparency, and informed decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in sustaining institutional-quality financial practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports—with strict adherence to GAAP and applicable regulatory standards.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions across platforms such as QuickBooks, Buildium, and Service Fusion, ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices and collections.
Maintain the integrity of financial records through regular bank and general ledger reconciliations.
Execute detailed account analyses and journal entries in support of disciplined month-end and year-end close processes.
Manage lease accounting functions, including rent roll oversight, utility and legal charge allocations, and expense distribution across portfolios.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning efforts, delivering clear insights through thoughtful analysis and interpretation of financial data.
Collaborate cross-functionally to meet reporting requirements and enhance operational alignment.
Lead onboarding of new clients into accounting and property management systems, ensuring a seamless and controlled transition.

Experience

Proven experience in corporate and real estate accounting, grounded in a strong command of GAAP principles and disciplined financial reporting.
Demonstrated proficiency across leading accounting and property management platforms, including Buildium, Yardi, AppFolio, and Service Fusion; working knowledge of QuickBooks is strongly preferred.
Fluency in core accounting frameworks, including double-entry bookkeeping, accrual-based accounting, balance sheet integrity, and rigorous account reconciliation practices.
Working knowledge of trust accounting, with an appreciation for fiduciary responsibility and regulatory compliance.
Analytical capability to translate financial data into insight, including cash flow evaluation, budget forecasting, and clear, decision-oriented reporting.
Experience in public accounting or private equity environments is valued, particularly where precision, pace, and accountability are paramount.

Highly organized with a meticulous approach to financial detail, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, audit readiness, and comprehensive account analysis.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
