About Aero Global Logistics

Aero Global Logistics (AGL) is an asset-based transportation provider specializing in North American logistics, including automotive delivery, final mile, and cross-dock operations. We currently manage thousands of daily deliveries for leading manufacturers and retailers across 30 states. To support our rapid expansion, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to strengthen our financial operations and build scalable processes for our next phase of growth.

Position Summary

Aero Global Logistics is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead our daily financial operations. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees all accounting functions—including budgeting, auditing, and cash flow—while collaborating with our external CPA and leadership to optimize processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the monthly financial close process.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate with the company’s outside CPA firm.
- Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and tax support.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Develop annual operating budgets.
- Assist department leaders with budget planning.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance reports.
- Build financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements.

- Perform detailed audits of customer invoices before billing.
- Review vendor invoices and expense coding for accuracy.
- Verify contract pricing and billing compliance.
- Identify revenue leakage and cost-saving opportunities.
- Improve internal accounting procedures and financial controls.

- Analyze profitability by customer, terminal, and operation.
- Monitor labor, fleet, and operating expenses.
- Assist leadership with pricing and financial analysis for new business opportunities.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support executive decision-making.

- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Support banking relationships and financing activities.
- Review capital expenditures and equipment purchases.

- Recommend and implement more efficient accounting processes.
- Develop standardized reporting and documentation.
- Support system improvements and financial automation initiatives.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3+ years in a senior accounting, accounting manager, assistant controller, or controller role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred - Experience within transportation, logistics, distribution, fleet, or supply chain industries.
- Experience working with outside CPA firms.
- CPA designation.
- Experience with ERP or transportation accounting systems.
- Knowledge of job costing, contract billing, and operational financial reporting.
