Corporate Controller

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Compensation: $150,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits Package

About the Opportunity

A leading national commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its corporate accounting function in Cincinnati, OH. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a strategic accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

The Corporate Controller will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, GAAP compliance, and the month-end and year-end close process while partnering closely with executive leadership. The ideal candidate is an active CPA with a strong background in corporate accounting and financial reporting, preferably within the commercial construction industry.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership

Lead all corporate accounting operations and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital asset management
Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to executive leadership

Internal Controls & Compliance

Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate reporting requirements
Lead all external audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with auditors
Oversee insurance accounting, claims reporting, and regulatory compliance

Financial Planning & Business Partnership

Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
Provide financial analysis to support operational and business decisions
Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency

Process Improvement

Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes
Lead corporate accounting initiatives and special projects
Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate financial reporting
Experience managing audits and internal controls
Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software experience
Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

Commercial construction or project-based accounting
Multi-entity accounting environment
Experience with job costing and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience
