AVK Global Bookkeeping provides comprehensive financial management services for businesses in Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert, and the surrounding areas. We understand the importance of staying on top of financial reports in order to run a successful company. With our efficient and reliable bookkeeping services, we help businesses manage the minute details and keep their financials on track.

Role Description

This is a part-time (30-40 hours/month) fully remote contract role for a bookkeeper at AVK Global Bookkeeping. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, managing bookkeeping tasks, and utilizing accounting software. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently and remotely. This is a client facing role so strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are a must.

Qualifications

Essential Technical Skills:

Bookkeeping & Accounting: Minimum of 1 year of proven bookkeeping experience, with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits, credits, and the accounting equation).
Software Proficiency: High proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks (QBO ProAdvisor certification is a huge plus), Xero, or Sage.
Financial Reporting: Ability to accurately reconcile accounts, process accounts payable/receivable, process payroll, and generate accurate, timely financial reports (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet).
Spreadsheet Proficiency: Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
Data Entry & Accuracy: Exceptional data entry skills with an obsessive attention to detail and zero-tolerance for miscalculations.

Client-Facing & Soft Skills:

Professional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain financial concepts, report updates, and discuss discrepancies clearly with non-finance customers.
Customer Service Orientation: A warm, patient, and professional demeanor, with a proven ability to provide reassuring, solution-oriented support to clients and vendors.
Discretion & Ethics: High standard of integrity and trustworthiness, with the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to independently troubleshoot billing issues, identify irregularities, and resolve customer complaints calmly.
Time Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage part-time hours efficiently while balancing the needs and deadlines of multiple clients.

Self-Management & Communication:

Independent Driver: Highly self-motivated with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines with zero supervision.
Over-Communication: Strong proactive communication habits, ensuring clients and team members are regularly updated on project status.
Asynchronous Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones using written digital communication.
Connectivity Requirements: Must maintain a reliable high-speed internet connection to support remote work and virtual collaboration.

Education & Credentials:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is highly preferred, though equivalent professional experience is often accepted.
