Job Overview

As a Tax Preparer - We will train you, providing comprehensive instruction on tax laws, software, and client service skills. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop expertise in accounting, tax compliance, and financial concepts while helping clients navigate their tax obligations confidently. Join our dynamic team and start building a solid foundation in the exciting world of finance and taxation!

Duties

Assist clients by gathering and organizing necessary tax documents, including income statements, receipts, and relevant financial records
Learn to prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns using specialized tax preparation software
Support senior team members with tax reporting, calculations, and compliance with current tax laws
Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax-related questions and gather additional information as needed
Maintain accurate records of all tax documents and client interactions in our accounting software systems such as QuickBooks or Sage
Participate in ongoing training sessions to deepen understanding of public accounting practices, tax law updates, and financial concepts
Contribute to marketing efforts by assisting with client acquisition strategies and promoting our services within the community

Qualifications

Strong interest in accounting, finance, or related fields; previous experience in public accounting or bookkeeping is a plus but not required
Basic math skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage is preferred; willingness to learn new financial software tools
Ability to analyze financial data and understand complex tax concepts including individual and corporate tax reporting
Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple client files efficiently
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to tax preparation, compliance, and client communication
