ABOUT THE ROLE

RSGS is seeking a highly skilled cost analyst with hands-on experience in Unanet financial and forecasting software to support mission-critical cost estimating, pricing analysis, and financial reporting.

In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and defense experts to deliver high-impact solutions for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of government cost accounting standards (CAS) and federal acquisition regulations (FAR), alongside a proven ability to extract, model, and analyze complex financial data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Cost Analyst you will be responsible for the following:

Cost modeling & proposals: develop, maintain, and analyze rigorous cost models and pricing proposals in strict accordance with contract requirements.
Data management: extract, validate, and manipulate financial data from Unanet and other program control software to ensure database integrity.
Pricing strategy: support strategic pricing initiatives and business case analyses for new proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
Cross-functional collaboration: partner with program management, engineering, and finance teams to build accurate, defensible cost estimates and budgets.
Financial analysis & forecasting: conduct variance analysis, estimate-at-completion (EAC) forecasting, and cost trend analysis to guide strategic program decisions.
Compliance & auditing: ensure absolute compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and internal accounting policies. Support government audits and internal reviews of pricing and estimating systems.
Program control (EVM): support earned value management (EVM) tracking, compile cost performance reports, and perform life-cycle cost analyses.
Reporting: prepare and present clear, data-driven financial findings and recommendations to senior leadership and government stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Education: bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related analytical discipline.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in cost analysis or program control, ideally within the defense, aerospace, or missile defense sectors.
Systems: proficiency in Unanet (experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus).
Regulatory knowledge: solid understanding of FAR, DFARS, AND CAS regulations.
Technical skills: advanced excel capabilities and experience with cost modeling and risk analysis.
Security: ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD secret security clearance.

Preferred

Active DoD secret security clearance.
Demonstrated experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) acquisition processes and life-cycle cost estimating.
Hands-on knowledge of earned value management systems (EVMS) and formal IPMR/CPR reporting.
Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with a track record of presenting complex financial data to government and industry leadership.
