Full Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Home Care Aides and Caregivers to support individuals in their homes and communities. Our team provides critical non-medical assistance that enables older adults, individuals with disabilities, and others with care needs to remain safely and comfortably in familiar environments.

This position involves a mix of personal care, homemaking, companionship, and respite support as outlined in each client’s personalized Care Plan.

Minimum Qualifications

California HCA Registration: Must hold an active Home Care Aide registration with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS). Visit the CDSS Home Care Aide Information page for guidance.
Professionalism: Consistent punctuality, reliability, and a presentable appearance are required.
Technology Readiness: Must be comfortable using smartphones and web-based systems to log visits and update care documentation.
Adaptability & Calm Under Pressure: Able to respond quickly and calmly to changing client needs.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and effective verbal communication are essential.
Ethics & Integrity: A commitment to client confidentiality and ethical conduct in line with agency standards.

Key Responsibilities

Follow care instructions provided in the client’s written Care Plan under the direction of a Care Manager or Care Coordinator.
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, walking, and eating.
Provide personal care services such as oral hygiene, skin care, incontinence care, and medication reminders (non-administrative).
Perform light housekeeping: changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, vacuuming, dusting, and doing laundry.
Support meal preparation and assist with feeding or dietary guidelines, as noted in the Care Plan.
Offer companionship and emotional support through conversation, reading, games, and participation in favorite hobbies or activities.
Assist with transportation or accompany clients on essential errands and medical appointments.
Help clients with light administrative or communication tasks (writing, reading, typing, etc.).
Monitor clients’ environments for safety, noting and reporting any concerns or changes in behavior, health, or condition.
Participate in required orientation, training, and team meetings to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Document all tasks performed and observations during shifts using agency systems.
