Senior NX Mechanical Design Engineer – Power Generation (Contract)

6+ Month Contract
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with deep experience in power generation packaging and gas turbine modular engine design to join our team on a 6+ month onsite contract in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for an engineer who can independently plan design execution, lead technical direction, and guide designers through complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop power generation units utilizing gas turbine modular engines
- Create and manage detailed designs using UG NX (Unigraphics NX) — advanced proficiency required
- Develop packaging designs incorporating sheet metal, tubing, and beam weldments
- Work with and integrate pneumatic and fluid systems
- Define design strategies and organize structured plans to guide design teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evolving project requirements
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with NX / Unigraphics
- Proven background in power generation packaging
- Strong experience designing with weldments (sheet, tubing, beams)
- Familiarity with pneumatic and fluid system integration
- Experience designing gas turbine modular engine systems
- Ability to independently drive design direction and mentor/guidance junior designers
Interview & Work Environment
- Client will hire directly following a video interview
- 100% onsite role in Houston, TX
