Full Job Description

VCA Green is looking for a Sustainability Assistant to join our sustainability consulting team! You’ll support our large portfolio of buildings that are benchmarked annually by working with property managers, tenants, building owners, and utilities to collect data and prepare the benchmarking reports that are submitted to cities and states. You will also analyze utility data and prepare analyses, assist team members with building certifications, and help manage utility incentive applications.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, passionate about green buildings and sustainability, and eager to learn and grow.

What You’ll Do

Assist with the energy, water and waste benchmarking of entire VCA portfolio of customers
Receive information and documents from clients and file appropriately in company files
Collect, organize and manage utility bills and other documents from the client into the company cloud
Prepare utility authorizations and submit utility data requests
Work with utility companies to receive energy data in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
Set up new buildings in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and enter building data
Run ENERGY STAR reports
Submit benchmarking reports to local and state agencies
Enter customer and building details info in company CRM (Zoho) and project management tool
Run weekly, monthly, and annual status reports for assigned buildings
Collaborate with team on internal process development and contribute to procedural guides
Collect and evaluate project documentation including utility bills, as built drawings, energy models, and other relevant project information.
Analyze utility data and prepare analyses as needed
Support utility incentive applications and management of process
Assist team with sustainability certifications, including research and documentation
Review architectural drawings and prepare CALGreen compliance sheets

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 1 year of experience in sustainability
Ability to manage high volume of projects with strict deadlines
Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and critical thinking
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Expert in Excel
Python, SQL, GitHub experience a plus

Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience (DOE).
