Are you a highly independent, analytically minded planning professional who thrives on managing complex production lines, orchestrating precision manufacturing schedules, and working collaboratively right on the factory floor? Do you excel at converting raw material capacity into real-time operational reality using data models, tracking tools, and cross-functional problem-solving? As Cerebral Staffing, we are seeking an autonomous, detail-driven Production Scheduler to join our team supporting our client, John Deere, at their world-class manufacturing complex in Davenport, IA. Production Scheduler (Fabrication Operations) – John Deere Davenport Works This is a high-visibility, fast-paced 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $33/hr, including 1 week of PTO. Operating fully onsite in Davenport, IA, this role is explicitly positioned to anchor 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) logistics. You will be responsible for building, auditing, and enforcing precise production and material schedules specifically supporting critical laser cutting and forming operations.

Position Details & Compensation

Pay Rate: Up to $33/hr (W2).
Location: 100% Onsite at John Deere Davenport (Davenport, IA).
Duration: 1+ Year contract assignment (With long-term corporate renewal potential).
Shift Structure: Primarily an 8-Hour, 3rd Shift position (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
Flexibility & Overtime: Plant overtime is currently running (though not guaranteed). Candidates must be fully willing to support alternate shifts based on evolving business and factory needs.
Workspace Split: Highly active—spending 50% or more of your time out on the production floor coordinating with teams, and the remainder in a shared office environment.
Safety Gear: Metatarsal safety boots are strictly required on Day 1.
Benefits: 1 Week PTO, Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, and Referral Bonuses.
Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or in the near future for this position.

Core Responsibilities

Operations Production Scheduling: Develop, release, and monitor daily and weekly machine-level production schedules specifically tuned for high-volume laser cutting, metal manipulation, and forming fabrication centers.
Autonomous Execution: Work with extreme independence on a daily basis with minimal direct management instruction, taking quick corrective action to solve material shortages or machine bottlenecks.
Line-Side Collaboration: Spend half your shift out on the active factory floor sitting directly alongside Fabrication Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and fellow Schedulers to synchronize material flow.
System Upkeep & Data Entry: Maintain data integrity inside factory enterprise systems, updating schedules, checking raw component availability, and tracking processing targets.
Logistical Problem Solving: Track variance metrics, isolate schedule delays, and work cross-functionally to adjust sequence orders to maximize total plant efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

Data & Software Competence: Must be highly proficient across the MS Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities (must confidently navigate Pivot Tables, V-LOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
Communication Depth: Excellent verbal and written communication habits with an ability to present schedule changes clearly to operators and executive leadership alike.
Team Integration: Exceptional interpersonal skills tailored for a fast-paced, high-communication manufacturing cell layout.
Education & Experience Blueprints:
The hiring team strongly prefers a completed 4-year college degree in a relevant field paired with 1+ years of dedicated industrial scheduling experience.
Candidates with a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED will be fully evaluated if backed by 5+ years of verified production scheduling experience inside a manufacturing environment.
