Join a Growing Physician-Led Dermatology Practice
Compass Dermatopathology is seeking an exceptional Board Certified Dermatologist to join our growing physician-owned organization in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Under the leadership of our founder, Dr. Antoanella Calame, Compass Dermatopathology has been providing dermatology, dermatopathology, Mohs surgery, and teledermatology services since 2010. Through Compass Dermatopathology, Lanoi Medical Group, and SkyMD, we continue to expand access to high-quality dermatologic care while remaining committed to exceptional patient care, innovation, and physician support.
As our organization continues to grow, so does the demand for dermatology services. Due to increasing referral volume, physician shortages, and extended wait times throughout New Mexico, this physician will step into a practice with an established referral network, experienced support staff, and immediate patient demand.
We are planning ahead for our continued growth and anticipate this position beginning in approximately six months.

As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a physician who enjoys collaborating with and mentoring Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners). The ideal candidate will help foster a positive, patient-centered environment while supporting the continued development of our clinical team.

Scope of Practice
This position offers a broad scope of dermatology, including:
- General Dermatology
- Pediatric Dermatology
- Procedural Dermatology
- Skin Cancer Detection
- Biopsies
- Excisions
- Cosmetic Dermatology (optional)
- Collaboration with our Mohs surgery team
Telemedicine Opportunities
In addition to providing in-person care in Albuquerque, physicians will also have the opportunity to provide teledermatology services through SkyMD, our nationally recognized telehealth platform.
This allows physicians to expand access to dermatologic care throughout New Mexico while offering additional flexibility and variety within their practice.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dermatologic care, including diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
- Perform biopsies, excisions, and other office-based dermatologic procedures.
- Utilize the electronic health record system to accurately document patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, pathology, and clinical staff.
- Mentor and support Advanced Practice Providers while helping build a collaborative clinical environment.
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative skin care.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development.
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Dermatology through ABD / ABMS
- Active or eligible for New Mexico medical licensure
- Five or more years of dermatology experience preferred
- Experience collaborating with or mentoring Advanced Practice Providers is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a highly competitive compensation package designed to reward productivity while supporting physician success.
Benefits include:
- The greater of 50% of net collections or $2,000 per eight-hour clinical day
