Full Job Description

Full-time Trainer Position

Job summary:

Pro-ACT, Inc., established in 1975, provides crisis response, workplace violence prevention, and professional development training to educators, health care, and social service professionals nationwide. A Pro-ACT, Inc. National Trainer will have 5+ years of experience in education, healthcare, or social service employment that includes direct client interaction plus involvement in leadership, staff supervision, and training.

Part of a highly collaborative team, a Pro-ACT, Inc. National Trainer is responsible for delivering Pro-ACT and other training curricula to professionals throughout the U.S. as well as managing the pre- and post-training certification process.

A Pro-ACT Trainer must be capable of independent work as well as the high-performance demands of adult learning. A personal commitment to Pro-ACT, Inc.’s mission of client and staff safety in an environment of support and respect are essential, as are attention to detail and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A qualified person must be technically proficient and able to manage a virtual and in- person training environment. Some travel may be required. Most training is conducted remotely with periodic on-site training at various locations throughout the Unites States (primarily California).

Status: Full time

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in human services, education, or behavioral health.
Minimum of 1 year online teaching experience in a synchronous classroom.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or professional certification preferred.
Capable with computer technology including word processing, email exchange and zoom.
Ability to travel a minimum of 12 weeks per year.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 4 hours.
Positions self to demonstrate all physical exercises in the curriculum including, but not limited to: stretching; balancing; bending; twisting; moving forward, backward, and side-to-side; lifting arms; and kneeling.
Ability to comfortably lift and move 35 lbs. without assistance.

Description of duties: A full-time Pro-ACT trainer will:

train a minimum of 36 weeks per year with a high probability of travel for some training activities with the majority of virtual trainings conducted on Pacific Time;
be available to train in any U.S. time zone;
manage all training preparation and follow-up;
train the Pro-ACT curriculum (in 5-day and 2.5-day combinations) as well as other Pro-ACT, Inc. training programs;
participate in review and feedback processes for curriculum products;
participate in piloting and promotion of curriculum products;
routinely collaborate with other Pro-ACT National Trainers and the Director of Training Operations for continuous improvement of curriculum delivery;
actively and meaningfully contribute to trainer group meetings and other trainer activities;
monitor and communicate the status of political and legislative activities regarding healthcare, social service and educational issues;
communicate with certified in-service instructors and other Pro-ACT, Inc. stake holders;
attend annual in-person trainer retreat and Pro-ACT, Inc. staff meetings;
coordinate, plan and manage all travel arrangements;
execute all other duties as assigned.
