Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to design, modernize, and optimize highly complex enterprise IT systems supporting federal cybersecurity and mission objectives. The Architect will provide Technical Architecture Leadership, guiding system modernization initiatives, multitenant solution design, secure architecture development, and endtoend systems integration. This role requires deep experience with federal cybersecurity frameworks, enterprise architecture, and crossfunctional technical leadership.
US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Lead the design and architecture of secure, scalable enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks such as NIST SP 80053 and related guidance.
Provide Technical Architecture Leadership, including architectural vision setting, technical decision-making, design governance, and guidance to engineering and development teams.
Develop enterprise architecture artifacts including system diagrams, data flows, reference architectures, standards, and modernization roadmaps.
Conduct architectural reviews, risk assessments, performance optimization, and security posture evaluations across the enterprise.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, DevSecOps, and operations teams to ensure cohesive, secure system implementation aligned with mission objectives.
Support complex production environments by diagnosing and resolving highpriority technical issues.
Advise government leadership on emerging technologies, architectural improvements, cloud strategy, modernization opportunities, and lifecycle planning.
Mentor technical staff and contribute to enterprise-wide architecture best practices and governance processes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum 8+ years designing or architecting highly complex IT systems (LCAT requirement).
Demonstrated experience providing Technical Architecture Leadership across large enterprise programs.
Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles.
Experience with cloud architecture, multi-tenant systems, API integration, and enterprise modernization.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Certifications such as CISSP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent.
Experience leading DevSecOps initiatives and cloud migration programs.
Familiarity with CI/CD, automation frameworks, and containerized architectures.
