About MugsyClicks

MugsyClicks is a Northern California school portrait photography company serving approximately 170 schools across the region. We photograph students on-site at schools, manage online ordering for families, and handle all post-production and delivery in-house. Every school year, our team produces thousands of portraits that families treasure for years to come.

About the role

We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Photo Editor to join our team for the upcoming fall season. This is a full-time seasonal position running from August through approximately November. You'll be a core part of our in-house production team, responsible for editing and processing high volumes of student portrait images to meet our quality standards and school delivery deadlines. During peak season, editors may process hundreds or thousands of images per day, so comfort with repetitive, detail-focused work is essential.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable in Adobe Lightroom, is comfortable with repetitive precision work at volume, and takes pride in consistent, polished output.

What you'll do

Edit and process large batches of student portrait images using Adobe Lightroom and other image processing programs
Apply consistent color correction, exposure adjustments, and retouching according to MugsyClicks style guides
Organize and manage image files across multiple school jobs throughout the season
Coordinate with the Production Manager to meet school delivery deadlines
Flag and escalate quality issues or reshoots as needed
Maintain a clean, organized digital workspace throughout the season
Create class group images, including face-swapping when necessary

What we're looking for

Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom — you're comfortable with batch editing, presets, and cataloging
Adobe Photoshop proficiency is preferred
Strong eye for consistent color, exposure, and skin tones across large image sets
Ability to work quickly with thousands of images without sacrificing quality
Organized and reliable — you manage files carefully and meet deadlines
Experience with portrait or event photography editing preferred
Ability to work on-site at our San Rafael production studio
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented mindset
All editing equipment and software is provided on-site

Schedule and compensation

Full-time seasonal position running August through approximately November. Additional seasonal opportunities may be available during our Spring photography season. A typical week during Fall is 40hr/week.
Flexible schedule can be accommodated
On-site at our San Rafael studio within walking distance of the train/bus depot. **Not a remote role
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Training provided during the first week of August alongside our full photo team to set expectations and learn our post-production workflow
