Lead a School of Excellence

Position Overview
The Assistant Principal serves as the instructional, operational, and cultural leader of Hive Preparatory School.
This leader will be responsible for sustaining academic excellence, supporting teacher growth, strengthening school culture, ensuring operational effectiveness, and building meaningful partnerships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
The successful candidate will possess the vision to think strategically, the leadership skills to inspire others, and the operational expertise necessary to lead a high-performing school community.
Key Leadership Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of a rigorous instructional program.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with state standards and school performance goals.
- Utilize student achievement data to drive instructional decisions and school improvement initiatives.
- Establish systems of accountability that promote excellence for students and staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Faculty Development
- Recruit, retain, and develop exceptional teachers and support staff.
- Conduct formal and informal observations and provide meaningful coaching.
- Build collaborative professional learning communities.
- Promote professional growth through targeted development opportunities.
- Create a culture of accountability, support, and excellence.
School Culture & Student Success
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote high expectations for student behavior, achievement, and character.
- Support programs that foster student leadership, engagement, and well-being.
- Ensure all students feel valued, challenged, and supported.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and families.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader within the school community.
- Strengthen partnerships with community organizations, universities, businesses, and stakeholders.
- Support student recruitment, retention, and community outreach efforts.
Operations & Strategic Leadership
- Oversee daily school operations and ensure organizational effectiveness.
- Manage budgets, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Collaborate with school leadership and governing board members on strategic planning and future growth initiatives.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts aligned with the school’s mission and vision.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
- Educational Leadership Certification.
- Minimum five years of successful school leadership experience.
- Experience serving as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Specialist, or similar leadership role.
- Demonstrated success improving student achievement and school performance.
- Strong background in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data analysis.
- Experience coaching and developing teachers.
- Knowledge of Title I programs and requirements.
- Knowledge of ESE, ELL, and federal accountability requirements.
- Experience managing school operations, budgets, and personnel.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
