Full Job Description

Accounting SpecialistDescription

As our Accounting Specialist, you'll be a key member of our internal accounting team, reporting directly to the Accounting Department Manager. Your primary focus will be accounts receivable—invoicing, payment application, and client billing reconciliations—supported by related accounting work including expense report processing, contractor payments, and vendor support.

This role exists because our accounting function is growing and needs a dedicated partner who can own the day-to-day A/R work with care and precision. You'll work closely with the Accounting Department Manager and interact regularly with other departments and vendors.

What You'll Do

Own accounts receivable activities including, but not limited do, invoicing, payment application, and client billing reconciliations
Review and process expense reports, verifying accuracy and compliance with company policy
Process recurring contractor payments on a bi-weekly cadence
Support accounts payable activities including vendor record maintenance and W-9 collection
Assist with month-end support tasks and general accounting needs
Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to resolve billing and payment inquiries
Contribute to process improvements and documentation as the function evolves

What You'll Bring (Required)

Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field with 2+ years of accounting experience focused on accounts receivable, OR 5+ years of relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy under volume
Ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines independently in a fully remote environment
Comfort handling sensitive financial information with discretion
Must be local to Utah
Authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)

What's Helpful (Preferred, Not Required)

Experience supporting accounts receivable for service-based businesses
Experience with various payment platforms, including but not limited to Coupa, Paymode-X, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.

Pay: $15.00 - $30.44 per hour
