Job Description and Duties

The California State Lottery is hiring for an Associate Accounting Analyst in the Finance Division's Tax Unit. Some key responsibilities include:

Monitoring and analyzing taxes withheld from prize winners and remitted to the Internal Revenue Service.
Preparing monthly reconciliations for reportable tax payments, deposits and quarterly/annual tax returns.
Analyzing payments to determine if vendors should receive a tax form for reportable income.
Customer service working with Vendors, Retailers, and Prize Winners to confirm accurate tax information is provided.

This position is headquartered at the Sacramento headquarters and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: “telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.

Working Conditions

Schedule: This position is eligible for flexible work hours between 7:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday; however, is required to start the workday no later than 8:30AM.
This position is eligible to be remote centered: two (2) days per week in office at Sacramento HQ and telework three (3) days a week. Additional in office days may be required based on business need.
Travel: Travel to/from offsite training courses may be required.
