As a part-time Medical/Clinical Affairs Associate, you’ll work remotely and help advance clinical programs, support evidence generation, strengthen relationships with clinical experts, and contribute to meaningful work that supports better patient care.
You’ll support the Vice President of Clinical Affairs by helping move clinical initiatives forward, coordinating important projects, reviewing clinical materials, and supporting educational programming that informs and empowers healthcare professionals.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher is required.
This is a part-time, remote position; however, candidates must be willing to travel as needed for hospital visits, clinical site support, professional conferences, industry trade shows, and periodic company meetings.

You’ll play an important role in helping Covalon build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, advisors, and external collaborators. Your clinical background, communication skills, and organized approach will help support case series, real-world data collection, investigator-initiated studies, product training, webinars, speaker programs, advisory boards, and hands-on workshops.

Key Responsibilities
While this list is not all inclusive of the position’s responsibilities, here are the key elements:
- Develop and deliver clinical and educational programming in collaboration with KOLs, including product training, webinars, speaker programs, advisory boards, and hands-on workshops.
- Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical experts, and internal teams to support clinical evidence generation initiatives such as case series, real-world data collection, and investigator-initiated studies.
- Support daily communications with KOLs, clinical advisors, and external collaborators to help build strong relationships, support evidence development, and maintain strategic alignment.
- Represent Covalon as needed during hospital and customer visits, professional conferences, and industry trade shows to support clinical programs and strengthen relationships with clinicians and key opinion leaders.
- Proactively collect market insights and clinical feedback to help inform Covalon’s clinical development and medical strategies.
- Build, update, and maintain Clinical Affairs department tools and dashboards, including the KOL database, project plans, progress metrics, departmental KPIs, and quarterly performance updates.
- Prepare and critically review internal project and regulatory documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Clinical Evaluation Reports, complaint reports, post-market surveillance documentation, risk management files, and other clinical materials.
- Review marketing and external-facing materials for scientific accuracy and alignment with applicable regulatory standards.
- Provide daily clinical support to Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Quality, and other cross-functional partners.
- Manage assigned work with professionalism, organization, accountability, and a commitment to quality, compliance, safety, and ethical business practices.
Education and Experience
Academic: A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Advanced education such as APRN, NP, PA, or certifications in Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, or a related discipline are considered strong assets.
Experience: We are looking for a Registered Nurse with at least two years of bedside clinical experience in an acute care or hospital setting. Experience with IV catheter insertion and maintenance is an asset, along with knowledge of surgical environments and/or wound care practices.
- Clinical experience in an acute care or hospital environment.
- Medical device industry experience, including familiarity with clinical operations and regulatory standards.
- Experience supporting clinical education, study coordination, product training, scientific presentations, or medical writing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinicians, investigators, KOLs, and cross-functional partners.

The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience preparing or reviewing clinical summaries, abstracts, manuscripts, clinical study reports, presentations, or educational materials.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice, FDA, ISO, Health Canada, ISO 14155, AdvaMed Code of Ethics, or other relevant regulatory and ethical frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities.
- A thoughtful and open approach to using AI and other digital tools responsibly to improve efficiency and support high-quality work.
- A collaborative, proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges and stakeholder engagement.
