Job Purpose
The Boutique Proprietor (BP) is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a Benefit Cosmetics boutique, driving sales performance, delivering exceptional client experiences, and cultivating a high-performing team. The BP serves as the primary leader within the boutique, overseeing the Sales & Service Lead as well as the Brow & Beauty Expert (BBE) team and acting as the key liaison between in-store operations and the Sales Manager. The BP embodies the Benefit brand, champions its heritage and values, and ensures consistent execution of brand standards to maximize both business results and client satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
- Sales and Service Achievement
- Achieve and exceed product and service sales goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis, driving overall boutique performance.
- Actively promote and sell Benefit's products and services by demonstrating expertise in their use, application, and benefits, making personalized recommendations to clients.
- Perform Benefit services — including waxing, tinting, laminations, and all other services offered on Benefit's service menu — in full compliance with Benefit standards and techniques, as well as State Board guidelines, including hygiene, consultations, and aftercare.
- Ensure the highest level of client experience is consistently delivered, creating a memorable and personalized experience for every client.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, encouraging repeat visits and driving client retention through rebooking and follow-ups.
- Address and resolve any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Proactively drive in-store events and animations to generate business, improve client loyalty, and elevate brand visibility.
- Team Management and Development
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing team, promoting accountability, performance culture, and continuous learning.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to support team members' growth, success, and overall well-being, while inspiring local teams to achieve excellence and embody Benefit values.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement while encouraging diversity and inclusivity within the team.
- Communicate closely with appropriate Benefit partners on all issues, concerns, and opportunities.
- Client Experience and Brand Representation
- Ensure that the highest level of client experience is consistently provided across all locations, creating a memorable and personalized experience for every client.
- Serve as a brand ambassador and role model, inspiring the team through exceptional storytelling of Benefit's heritage, values, and culture.
- Cultivate a positive and engaging environment for clients, store personnel, and employees.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance brand loyalty and reputation within the assigned market.
- Business Development
- Continuously monitor and analyze boutique performance data, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to formulate and execute effective action plans.
- Communicate closely with the Sales Manager on all performance results, issues, concerns, and opportunities within the boutique.
- Leverage entrepreneurial thinking to propose strategies and initiatives that drive local business growth and strengthen brand presence.
- Analyze local market and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee all day-to-day boutique operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to Benefit Cosmetics and US Boutiques policies and procedures.
- Ensure the boutique is consistently well-maintained, clean, and organized to create an inviting and visually appealing environment for clients.
- Support the execution of action plans, merchandising guidelines, new product launches, and company programs to maximize retail results.
- Monitor boutique inventory and coordinate with appropriate partners to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Facilitate smooth and accurate client transactions, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
- Maintain compliance with all Internal Control policies and ensure audit readiness at the boutique level.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to test and apply products to skin.
- Physical capability for tasks that may involve lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
- Continuous standing/walking for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Continuous bending of neck, arms, torso, and legs for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Work in a fragrance-filled environment.
- Physical contact with clients/customers.
- Able to use a computer and MPOS for client transactions and operational reporting.

Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in beauty sales, retail management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and service goals.
- Must maintain compliance with State Board regulations at all times.
- Must maintain and display a valid state-issued aesthetician or cosmetologist license for the work state. The employee is responsible for any fees, additional training, and/or renewals needed as a requirement.
- Must have proof of insurance, a current and valid driver's license, and a reliable means of transportation.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully complete the E-Verify process.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays, as needed to meet the requirements of the business.
- Ability to travel within the assigned geography, by air if necessary, for up to 4 days per week.

The target salary range for this position is $81,100 – $94,600 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn a sales incentive bonus and/or commission.
