Advance Hearing and Neuroscience Research
A-Team Solutions is seeking talented Inner Ear Biologists / Biological Scientists (Levels I-VII) to support innovative research within the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). This position supports the Laboratory of Cell Structure and Dynamics and focuses on advancing the understanding of inner ear cellular biology through cutting-edge laboratory research, microscopy analysis, specimen preparation, and management of transgenic mouse models.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Experimental Support
- Perform sample preparation for studies involving rodent inner ear cellular biology.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments supporting investigations of cellular structure and function within the inner ear.
- Collect, organize, and analyze biological data.
- Interpret laboratory findings and prepare scientific summaries and reports.
Microscopy & Imaging
- Prepare biological specimens for advanced confocal microscopy studies.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated microscopy equipment.
- Analyze microscopy images and datasets using computational tools.
- Generate figures and visual data presentations for scientific reports and publications.
Laboratory Operations
- Operate laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment.
- Maintain laboratory inventories, reagent tracking systems, and equipment records.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
- Support efficient laboratory workflow and research operations.
Data Analysis & Scientific Reporting
- Program and use computer applications to store, process, and analyze scientific data.
- Prepare written summaries of experimental findings, data interpretations, and research outcomes.
- Present progress updates during laboratory meetings and scientific discussions.
- Conduct literature reviews to support experimental design and methodology selection.
Animal Research Support
- Assist with the management of transgenic mouse colonies used in scientific studies.
- Support research involving rodent models and inner ear biology investigations.
- Follow all animal research protocols and institutional guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in:
- Biology
- Cell Biology
- Neuroscience
- Molecular Biology
- Biomedical Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Related Scientific Discipline
Experience RequirementsBiological Scientist I-II
- Early-career scientists with laboratory research experience.
- Knowledge of biological laboratory procedures and scientific methodology.
Biological Scientist III-V
- Several years of progressively responsible biological research experience.
- Experience independently conducting experiments and analyzing data.
- Experience with microscopy and laboratory instrumentation preferred.
Biological Scientist VI-VII
- Extensive scientific research experience with demonstrated technical expertise.
- Ability to lead research projects and mentor junior laboratory personnel.
- Strong track record of scientific contributions, publications, or specialized technical accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with state-of-the-art confocal microscopy systems.
- Experience with computational analysis of microscopy data.
- Experience with transgenic mice and mouse colony management.
- Experience preparing samples for confocal microscopy studies.
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
