Non Profit Board Member – Fundraising & Community Engagement Volunteer (3 Yrs Exp Req)

Location: This position services/hires for both the and Northwest Indiana (NWI) areas.
Job Type: Volunteer / Part-Time
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours/month

Future Cycle Breakers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring young minds to think, build, and invest. We equip middle school students with the mindset, entrepreneurial skills, and financial literacy needed to become confident leaders and future investors. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and community partnerships, we're working toward an ambitious vision of 10,000 Young Investors Under 16 by 2032, helping ensure that every child's future is defined by opportunity—not their zip code.

We’re scaling fast—and we’re looking for passionate leaders to grow with us.

Position Summary
Future Cycle Breakers is a working board. We are seeking leaders who are willing to leverage their expertise, relationships, and influence to help grow the organization. Board members are expected to actively participate in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor cultivation, governance, and strategic initiatives. We are looking for individuals who will own outcomes—not simply attend meetings.

We are seeking a passionate and mission-driven Board Member with a strong background in fundraising and donor relations to help us grow our revenue, expand our donor base, and create long-term financial sustainability. This role is perfect for someone who loves building relationships, believes in the power of storytelling, and wants to make a real impact through the gift of giving.

Non Profit Board Member – Fundraising & Community Engagement Volunteer Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
Help identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
Participate in donor outreach campaigns, including e-blasts, virtual events, and direct asks.
Leverage your network to introduce new potential supporters and funders to Future Cycle Breakers.
Contribute to grant application strategy and funding opportunity identification.
Support the annual fundraising gala and other special initiatives.
Make a personally meaningful annual gift and actively encourage others to give.

Non Profit Board Member – Fundraising & Community Engagement Volunteer Qualifications

3+ years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, or donor relations.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Passionate about youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community impact.
Willingness to make introductions and champion the mission within your network.
Based in or connected to Illinois or Indiana is a plus.
