Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Endpoint Engineer to lead and enhance enterprise endpoint technologies across a growing organization. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, automation, governance, and lifecycle management of workstation technologies while serving as the highest level of technical support for endpoint-related issues. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Autopilot, Windows endpoint management, application packaging, automation, endpoint security, and process improvement. This individual will also mentor support teams, establish best practices, and help build a scalable, sustainable endpoint management program.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint Engineering & Application Management
- Lead the packaging, testing, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of enterprise applications.
- Package and deploy 15–25 applications per quarter, ranging from standard software to complex client/server applications.
- Manage application deployments through business analysis, development, testing, user acceptance, production deployment, and retirement.
- Develop and maintain deployment standards, documentation, and release procedures.
- Ensure application lifecycle processes follow established governance and best practices.
Endpoint Management & Workstation Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for workstation capability initiatives and endpoint technologies.
- Lead endpoint planning, software intake, release planning, and deployment meetings.
- Mentor and train Level I and Level II support teams on endpoint management best practices.
- Partner with IT Service Management teams to establish long-term operational ownership.
- Develop and maintain endpoint governance, standards, and documentation.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Evaluate existing endpoint management processes and implement continuous improvements.
- Standardize software intake, release management, patch management, and lifecycle workflows.
- Develop automation strategies to reduce repetitive work and improve endpoint reliability.
- Implement proactive remediation solutions to minimize recurring support issues.
- Create reporting dashboards and monitoring tools to improve visibility into endpoint health and performance.
Endpoint Lifecycle Management
- Manage the lifecycle of laptops, monitors, and endpoint hardware.
- Develop hardware replacement strategies and future technology roadmaps.
- Create governance, documentation, and operational procedures for endpoint lifecycle management.
- Research and implement endpoint standardization initiatives to improve supportability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on hardware planning and budgeting.
Endpoint Provisioning & Modern Device Management
- Administer and improve Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Autopilot deployment processes.
- Manage endpoint provisioning, configuration, compliance, and device onboarding.
- Maintain synchronization between cloud-based and on-premises endpoint management solutions.
- Improve provisioning workflows to enhance the end-user experience.
Patch Management & Security
- Develop and maintain enterprise workstation patch management processes.
- Coordinate testing, approval, and deployment of Windows updates and endpoint patches.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls and endpoint protection initiatives.
- Monitor endpoint compliance and security posture.
- Support CMMC and other security compliance initiatives.
- Assist with security audits, reporting, and remediation activities.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary Level III escalation resource for complex endpoint issues.
- Troubleshoot advanced hardware, software, deployment, and configuration challenges.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Deliver technical training, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Promote continuous improvement and technical growth throughout the IT support organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Endpoint Engineering, Endpoint Administration, Workplace Technology, or a related role.
- Advanced experience with:
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Autopilot
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- Windows 10/11 Enterprise
- Application packaging and software deployment
- Software lifecycle management
- Group Policy and endpoint configuration management
- Enterprise patch management
- Experience developing endpoint governance, operational standards, and documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives and endpoint compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, process improvements, and cross-functional projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMMC, NIST, CIS, or similar cybersecurity frameworks.
- PowerShell scripting and endpoint automation experience.
- Experience with CMDB, ITSM, and enterprise change management platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise software packaging and deployment methodologies.
- Experience designing endpoint lifecycle and asset management programs.
- Microsoft Endpoint or Azure certifications preferred.
Working Conditions
- Office-based environment with occasional travel between company locations as needed.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional after-hours support for maintenance windows, upgrades, or critical incidents.
- May participate in an on-call rotation based on business needs.
