Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Family Home Caregiver/Manager to provide support and assistance to adults in a home setting. This role involves fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for individuals requiring daily living support, while also managing essential operations within the Adult Family Home. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those they serve. Prior experience in caregiving or related fields is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults needing assistance with daily activities.

Responsibilities

Caregiving Responsibilities:

Assist adults with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
Support medication management and remind clients of appointments or routines.
Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences while ensuring safety standards are met.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
Follow all safety protocols and care plans to ensure client safety at all times.
Document care provided accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information.

Adult Family Home Manager Responsibilities:

Manage caregivers and ensure staffing coverage for all shifts.
Oversee scheduling of workers, coordinating shifts and ensuring punctuality and reliability.
Handle grocery shopping and maintain household supplies for the home.
Schedule and track medical, therapy, and essential appointments for residents.
Manage meal planning to ensure balanced, nutritious, and resident-appropriate meals.
Arrange transportation for appointments, outings, and other essential needs.
Oversee medication refills, coordinating with pharmacies and ensuring medications are available on time.
Support the overall daily operations of the Adult Family Home, ensuring compliance with policies, care plans, and state requirements.

Experience

Prior experience in caregiving, home health, or related roles is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with adults requiring assistance.
Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a respectful attitude toward clients’ independence and dignity.
Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally.
Basic knowledge of health and safety standards related to adult care is preferred but not mandatory.
Leadership ability and organizational skills to oversee caregiving staff and manage home operations are highly valued.
