Company Overview

Position Summary

The Card Service Manager oversees all aspects of Waterfall Bank’s debit and credit card programs, including operations, vendor relationships, compliance, performance management, and customer experience.

This role is responsible for driving card growth, improving operational efficiency, enhancing products and services, managing risk, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and card network standards. The Card Service Manager will partner with internal teams and external providers to deliver secure, innovative, and exceptional card services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage debit and credit card programs to ensure efficient operations and outstanding customer service.
Oversee card issuance, activation, maintenance, disputes, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and cardholder support.
Monitor portfolio performance, transaction trends, and key metrics to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
Manage relationships with card processors, payment networks, vendors, and third-party partners.
Ensure compliance with regulations, card network rules, and internal risk management standards.
Partner with Operations, Compliance, IT, Risk, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to support business objectives.
Lead card-related projects, system enhancements, conversions, and process improvements.
Analyze industry trends and program data to recommend enhancements and new solutions.
Support fraud prevention strategies and operational controls to protect customers and the organization.
Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on card products, procedures, and service expectations.
Assist with budgeting, reporting, vendor management, and strategic growth initiatives.
Resolve escalated customer issues while maintaining a high standard of service.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Five (5) years of experience in banking, payments, card services, or financial services operations.
One (1) to three (3) years of leadership or management experience.
Strong knowledge of debit and credit card operations, transaction processing, and cardholder servicing.
Understanding of banking regulations, card network requirements, fraud prevention, and operational risk.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing card programs within a financial institution.
Experience with card processors, payment platforms, and card management systems.
Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard network rules and processes.
Experience leading system implementations, conversions, and process improvement initiatives.
Certifications related to payments, banking operations, fraud, risk, or project management.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This role may require flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or off-hours support, to uphold our commitment to 24/7 client service availability.
