Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Civil - Dirt Superintendent to lead our earthwork and site preparation operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of dirt work projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Your leadership will drive project success from planning through execution, coordinating teams and resources to meet project goals on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of earthwork activities including excavation, grading, and site preparation to ensure adherence to project plans and schematics
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop realistic schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid
Manage construction site safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections
Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project requirements accurately
Oversee quality control measures, ensuring work meets specifications and industry standards; utilize tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary
Monitor project budgets and costs; assist in construction estimating and tracking expenditures against budgets
Supervise a team of skilled workers; provide guidance on construction management best practices and supervise their daily activities

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction management with a focus on earthwork or dirt operations; supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including bulldozers, excavators, graders, and related machinery
Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera P3, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools
Excellent blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret schematics for accurate execution of work
Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and safety protocols on construction sites
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Effective management skills with a track record of supervising teams successfully in fast-paced environments
