Senior Civil Designer
Square Root Services, LLC is hiring! We are seeking to fill a full-time position for a Senior Civil Designer. The position of a Senior Civil Designer is a professional who plays a pivotal role in the land development process, focusing on the design and engineering of infrastructure systems for various projects. This includes residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. A Senior Civil Designer will utilize their knowledge of civil engineering principles, design software, and applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulatory standards to develop detailed plans and specifications for these projects. This position will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This position is in Hobbs, NM but has the flexibility of having a hybrid remote schedule depending on experience and self-motivation. SRS offers a competitive pay and benefits package.

Overview
The Senior Civil Designer will play a pivotal role in the land development process, focusing on the design and engineering of infrastructure systems for various projects. This includes residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and have experience in land development, utilities, and road design.

Key Responsibilities

Site Analysis: Conduct thorough site assessments, including reviewing topographic surveys, soil investigations, and drainage studies.
Design Development: Prepare detailed design plans for infrastructure systems such as roads, storm drains, sanitary sewers, water lines, as well as grading and drainage plans.
Permitting: Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications to relevant regulatory agencies.
Construction Coordination: Collaborate with contractors and construction teams to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and comply with project specifications.
CAD Proficiency: Utilize CAD software (e.g. Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center) to create accurate and detailed drawings and plans.
Hydraulic Modeling: Perform hydraulic analyses to assess the adequacy of drainage systems and prevent flooding.
Grading Design: Develop grading plans to ensure proper stormwater runoff and site drainage.
Utility Coordination: Coordinate with municipalities and utility companies to plan and design the installation of necessary infrastructure.
Environmental Compliance: Adhere to environmental regulations and standards throughout the design process.
Quality: Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices and compliance with company standards and quality system procedures.
Teamwork:
Assist other CADD Technicians in identifying and implementing new CADD practices as software and technology change.
Coordinate with design engineers to develop accurate construction drawings.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred minimum qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field with 2 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of experience.
Experience in Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Suite software.
Read and understand plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with building codes and regulations. Ability to adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts, including site layout, grading, drainage, and structural design.
Ability to effectively work, communicate, and collaborate with clients and team members.
Self-motivated
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Willingness to adapt and learn new concepts.
Strong mathematics and science background.
Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in design plans.
Successfully pass a background check and drug and alcohol screen.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
