About Us: AvanteUSA is a leading Northeast-based collection agency specializing in secured consumer and commercial debt recovery. We partner with lenders, banks, and finance companies to assist in collection recovery and recover collateral on defaulted loans while maintaining strict compliance and professionalism. Job Summary We're hiring a motivated Collateral Collections Specialist to manage late-stage delinquent accounts secured by collateral (vehicles, equipment, boats, etc.). You'll handle outbound negotiations, coordinate repossessions, and manage recovery vendors. If you're resilient, detail-oriented, and thrive in a high-volume, phone-heavy environment with real impact on asset recovery, this role offers great growth in the collections industry!

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of secured delinquent accounts: monitor status, locate debtors/collateral, and make outbound calls to negotiate payoffs, payment plans, or voluntary surrenders
Coordinate repossessions: assign and oversee recovery agents/vendors, ensure compliant processes (e.g., breach of peace rules, UCC Article 9), and handle post-repo documentation
Skip trace assets and debtors using databases, public records, and investigative tools
Prepare and review legal documents: demands, affidavits, repo authorizations, condition reports, and sale notices
Negotiate settlements, arrange redemptions, and process payments or title transfers
Maintain accurate records in collection software, update statuses, and report on recovery metrics
Ensure full compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, state repossession laws, and agency policies

Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certifications (e.g., in collections or paralegal studies) a plus
1–3+ years in collections, recovery, repossession coordination, auto finance, or related field (secured debt experience preferred; entry-level with strong phone/negotiation skills considered)
Excellent verbal communication and de-escalation skills; comfortable with high-volume outbound calls and fast paced environment
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; we will train on specific collections software and skip tracing tools
Knowledge of repossession laws, UCC, and compliance regulations preferred—we provide thorough training!
