Position Overview
Korman is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and technically inclined Watch Service Technician to join our service team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with watches, small tools, and precision-based tasks and is interested in developing a long-term career in watch service or watchmaking. The Watch Service Technician will initially focus on essential services such as battery replacement, bracelet and strap sizing, light cleaning, basic inspections, and watch-service support.
This is not a senior watchmaker position. Korman is willing to train a candidate who demonstrates patience, reliability, strong attention to detail, a steady hand, and a genuine desire to learn.
The successful candidate will receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced professionals in Korman’s luxury retail and authorized Rolex Service Center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Basic Watch Service
- Change watch batteries using appropriate tools and established procedures.
- Size metal watch bracelets by adding or removing links.
- Adjust or replace watch straps, buckles, and spring bars.
- Perform basic visual inspections to identify visible damage, wear, or service needs.
- Assist with basic watch function checks before and after service.
- Conduct light exterior cleaning and steaming when appropriate.
- Help prepare watches for client pickup or transfer to the service department.
- Ensure all work is completed carefully, accurately, and according to Korman’s quality standards.
- Escalate advanced repairs, mechanical concerns, or unusual conditions to a senior watchmaker or manager.
Watch Service Intake and Documentation
- Assist with the intake of watches submitted for service or repair.
- Accurately document the watch brand, model, condition, accessories, requested service, and client information.
- Take detailed notes regarding visible wear, damage, or client concerns.
- Ensure watches are properly labeled, secured, and routed to the appropriate service professional.
- Help maintain accurate service records and work-order information.
- Communicate basic service information to the sales and service teams.
- Support the coordination of completed watch services and client pickups.
- Maintain discretion regarding client information, purchases, and high-value merchandise.
Watchmaker and Service-Team Support
- Support senior watchmakers and service professionals with preparation, organization, and routine technical tasks.
- Prepare tools, work areas, watch components, and service materials as directed.
- Assist with organizing watches awaiting service, parts, supplies, and completed work.
- Learn Korman’s service processes, quality standards, and approved handling procedures.
- Observe and assist with more advanced services as skills and experience develop.
- Participate in training and demonstrate continued progress in technical knowledge and capability.
- Follow instructions carefully and ask questions when a procedure or watch condition is unclear.
Workspace, Tools, and Quality Control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional watch-service workspace.
- Properly clean, store, and care for tools and equipment.
- Monitor supplies and notify management when tools, batteries, parts, or materials need to be reordered.
- Follow all safety, security, inventory, and merchandise-handling procedures.
- Protect watches from damage, contamination, loss, or misplacement.
- Double-check completed work for cleanliness, accuracy, function, and presentation.
- Immediately report any damage, discrepancy, or service concern to the appropriate manager.
Sales and Client-Service Support
- Assist sales professionals with watch sizing, battery replacement, and basic service needs.
- Support watch presentations by helping ensure merchandise is clean, properly fitted, and client-ready.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with sales, service, and leadership team members.
- Provide courteous basic assistance to clients while referring technical questions to the appropriate specialist.
- Help reduce the amount of routine watch-service work handled by the sales team.
- Assist with watch-related client events, appointments, and special projects when needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with watches, jewelry repair, small tools, mechanical work, electronics, crafts, or other detailed handwork is preferred but not required.
- Interest in watches and a desire to develop technical watch-service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work.
- Patience and the ability to concentrate on detailed tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and consistent in following through.
- Steady hands and strong fine-motor skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, procedures, and quality standards.
- Willingness to begin with foundational watch-service responsibilities and develop skills over time.
- Comfortable handling high-value merchandise with care and discretion.

- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Basic computer, documentation, and data-entry skills.
- Prior luxury retail or fine jewelry experience is helpful but not required.
- Availability to work Saturdays and occasional special events based on business needs.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The strongest candidates may have:
- Experience changing watch batteries or sizing watch bracelets and straps.
- Familiarity with spring-bar tools, case-opening tools, screwdrivers, tweezers, loupes, or other precision instruments.
- Experience working with jewelry, watches, electronics, machinery, model building, medical instruments, or other small components.
- Coursework, certification, or an interest in pursuing formal watchmaking education.
- Experience working in a luxury retail, jewelry, or client-service environment.
- A long-term interest in developing into a more advanced watch technician or watchmaker.
Training and Career Development
Korman will provide hands-on training in its watch-service standards and procedures. As the employee demonstrates technical ability, accuracy, reliability, and sound judgment, there may be opportunities to learn more advanced watch-service skills and work more closely with experienced watchmakers.
This position is intended to provide a foundation for someone who is serious about developing a career in watch service. Advancement will depend on demonstrated performance, technical development, business needs, and the employee’s commitment to continued learning.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods.
- Ability to perform detailed work using small tools and components.
- Adequate vision, with correction if necessary, to inspect small watch parts and complete precision tasks.
- Ability to maintain controlled hand movements and fine-motor coordination.
- Ability to safely lift and carry watch-service equipment, supplies, and merchandise as needed.
- Ability to move throughout the showroom and service areas during the workday.

The successful Watch Service Technician will:

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person position.
Korman operates Monday through Saturday, with typical working hours between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. The regular schedule and weekday off will be reviewed during the interview process.
Saturday availability is generally required. Some evening, holiday, and special-event availability may be needed based on business demands.

- $20 to $24 per hour, based on relevant experience and technical ability.
