About The Scarlet Institute

The Scarlet Institute delivers high-impact, customized leadership programming to companies, organizations and individuals. Founded by Jacqueline M. Baker, author of "The Unexpected Leader," we're growing our impact and need someone entrepreneurial to help us scale.

The Role

We're looking for a proactive, creative business development associate to drive outbound sales engagement. This isn't a typical entry-level role. You'll learn real B2B sales skills, create proposals, conduct discovery calls, and directly impact our growth. Perfect for someone who wants hands-on experience building a sales pipeline in a fast-growing leadership development company.

What You'll Do

Outbound Sales & Lead Generation (60%):

Systematic outreach to identified industries via customized platform, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and direct email
Research and identify decision-makers
Send personalized connection requests and outreach messages (25-30 weekly)
Build and maintain pipeline of prospects

Discovery & Conversion (30%):

Schedule and conduct discovery calls (with training and support)
Create customized proposals using established templates
Follow up on proposals and move opportunities through the sales pipeline
Identify upsell opportunities

Tracking & Reporting (10%):

Maintain CRM with all prospect interactions and pipeline status
Track outreach metrics, response rates, and conversion data
Weekly reporting on activities and results
Contribute insights on what's working and what's not

What You'll Learn

B2B sales process from prospecting through close
How to research and qualify prospects effectively
Discovery call techniques and consultative selling
Proposal development and presentation
CRM management and sales pipeline optimization
Professional communication and relationship building

Bonus Points For:

Previous B2B sales or business development experience
Familiarity with professional associations or nonprofit sector a plus
LinkedIn and social selling experience
Experience with CRM systems, including 17Hats
Interest in leadership development or professional services

The Details

Schedule: 10 hours/week, flexible timing (remote) Compensation: $20-25/hour depending on experience Duration: Ongoing role starting summer 2026 Location: Remote (US-based preferred) Start Date: Immediate/ASAP
