Associate Attorney – Residential Real Estate | Opportunity to Build Commercial Real Estate & Bankruptcy PracticeJob Overview

Weber, Fabiyan & Associates, LLC is seeking a motivated and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our growing New Jersey law firm. Our practice is primarily focused on residential real estate law, representing buyers, sellers, lenders, and investors in residential real estate transactions throughout New Jersey.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside experienced real estate attorneys in a fast-paced, high-volume practice while developing meaningful client relationships and courtroom experience when necessary.

In addition to our established residential real estate practice, we are looking for an entrepreneurial attorney who is interested in helping expand the firm's services into commercial real estate transactions and/or bankruptcy law. The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop these practice areas with the full support of the firm and play an integral role in our continued growth.

More importantly, this is not simply an associate position. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with our firm. We are committed to mentoring the right attorney not only in the practice of law, but also in how to build a successful legal practice. Our goal is to provide a competitive salary while teaching you how to develop your own book of business, cultivate referral sources, and ultimately become a partner in the firm.

Duties

Represent buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential real estate transactions from contract review through closing.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, riders, addenda, and other transactional documents.
Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel throughout the transaction process.
Conduct legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research platforms.
Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents.
Utilize AI-powered legal and productivity tools to improve efficiency in legal research, document drafting, workflow management, and client service while maintaining independent legal judgment and strict confidentiality.
Assist with resolving title, inspection, financing, and closing issues.
Attend real estate closings and client meetings as needed.
Support the firm's continued expansion into commercial real estate and/or bankruptcy law, depending upon the candidate's experience and interests.
Stay current on changes in New Jersey real estate law and other applicable areas of practice.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
Strong interest in residential real estate law.
Experience in residential real estate is preferred but not required.
Experience in commercial real estate and/or bankruptcy law is a plus and highly desirable.
Experience using AI-powered legal and productivity software (such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Lexis+ AI, or similar platforms) is required. Candidates should be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance efficiency while exercising independent legal judgment and maintaining client confidentiality.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and client service abilities.
Ability to manage multiple files efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
A genuine interest in business development, client relationships, and building a long-term legal career.
