LSG Sky Chefs is the global leader in airline catering and the management of all in-flight service related processes. The LSG Group is the world's largest provider of in-flight services. These include catering, on-boarding retail, in-flight equipment and logistics, consulting and lounge services. Our extensive expertise in culinary excellence and logistics has led to our successful entry in adjacent markets, such as train services and retail. LSG Sky Chefs delivers nearly 600 million meals a year, primarily for more 300 airlines at 209 airports in 50 countries.

Job Description:

LSG Sky Chefs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hot Food Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

Responsibilities:

Maintain strict adherence to food safety requirements, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Ability to work in a chilled environment as required and remain on your feet for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
Prepare and cook assigned production quantities to customer specifications using the CBASE system.
Wear company-issued uniforms and safety shoes at all times.
Keep your workstation clean and organized, ensuring a safe work area.
Ensure cooked food is temperature tracked using HACCP logs for CCP 3 and CCP 4, as well as the thawing HACCP log when necessary.
Work closely with Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure culinary excellence and support material leadership and staff regarding material usage and thawing.
Assist any food employees or leaders in providing excellent service to our customers.
Perform all tasks with a focus on high safety and quality standards, and proactively communicate any safety hazards.

Qualifications/Experience:

Culinary Arts degree preferred, or skills demonstrated through practical and verbal testing.
Familiarity with sautéing, cutting/chopping, and kitchen tools.
Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
One to three years of related work experience required, with proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in cooking from recipes and menus based on written customer specifications.
Willingness and ability to learn Asian cuisine.
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
Ability to learn, understand, and utilize CBASE reports.
Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other departments.
Working knowledge of HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and FIFO.
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, with an aptitude for multitasking.
Good understanding of the food service industry and the nature of its changes.
