Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate News Reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism and a keen interest in current events. As a News Reporter, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and delivering news stories for print publication as well as website. Your role will involve engaging with the community, conducting interviews, and ensuring that our audience receives accurate and timely information. The candidate we are looking for should have the skills and desire to advance into an editor's position. Pagination skills and familiarity with graphic design necessary.

Responsibilities

Research and investigate news stories to provide comprehensive coverage of local, national, and international events.
Write clear, concise, and compelling news articles for print and digital platforms.
Conduct interviews with sources to gather information and quotes for stories.
Edit and proofread articles to ensure accuracy and adherence to journalistic standards.
Manage social media accounts to promote news content and engage with the audience effectively.
Collaborate with editors and other reporters to develop story ideas and coverage plans.
Produce video content as needed, including filming, editing, and post-production tasks.
Stay informed about current events and trends in journalism to enhance reporting quality.

Skills

Strong copy-editing skills with attention to detail in grammar, punctuation, and style.
Proficient in social media management to effectively share news stories and engage with followers.
Solid foundation in journalism principles, ethics, and practices.
Excellent proofreading abilities to ensure content accuracy before publication.
Experience in video production is a plus for creating multimedia content.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences through various mediums.
Proficient writing skills that demonstrate clarity, creativity, and storytelling ability.
Pagination and knowledge of graphic design.
