Job Summary

We are seeking a talented, "local" Managing Editor for a local publication, to oversee our editorial team and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing, fact-checking, and creative writing.

Candidates must live within the Jackson, WY or Driggs/Victor ID areas for consideration.

Duties

- Manage and coordinate the editorial team's workflow to meet deadlines

- Oversee the editing process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines

- Collaborate with writers to develop engaging content that resonates with the target audience

- Edit and proofread articles, ensuring clarity, coherence, and grammatical accuracy

- Develop editorial strategies to enhance content quality and audience engagement

Requirements

- Proven experience as a managing editor and in editing, copy writing, and creative writing

- Strong knowledge of AP style guides

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google platforms
