Machinist I – Lathe Operator

POSITION TITLE: Machinist I (Lathe Operator) FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Ambridge, PA DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing.

SUPERVISED BY: Working Shop Supervisor - Machining

Work shifts- 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM OR 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekends OT

ANDRITZ Metals USA designs and builds equipment for the processing of carbon steel, stainless steel,and non-ferrous metal including pickling lines, coating lines, levelers, cut to length lines, slitting lines, aswell as continuous or batch furnaces for reheating slabs, blooms, billets, and structural shapes. We specialize in supplying parts and services for rolling mills and strip processors and provide a wide range of mechanical and electrical components for ANDRITZ equipment, as well as for many other brands in the industry.

The Role

Under the direction of the Working Shop Supervisor, the Machinist I (Lathe Operator) is responsible.

for Initiating machining processes, tool selections, feeds, and speeds for a variety of materials.

▪ Performs set-ups and operate Manual Lathe Machine.

▪ Capable of using a micrometer, calipers, and hand tools.

▪ Ability to read blueprints.

▪ Skilled on an overhead crane.

Education and Experience

▪ High school diploma or equivalent.

▪ 1 year of machine shop experience.
