Mail Clerk / Transaction Processor

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mail Clerk / Transaction Processor to support our daily mail operations and manage transactions across the full bond lifecycle. This role combines hands-on mail handling with accurate, end-to-end processing work, making it ideal for a quick learner who thrives on accuracy, organization, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities - Mail Clerk / Transaction Processor

Daily Responsibilities

Mail Clerk Duties

Sort and distribute electronic and paper mail
Sort through daily batch print jobs and identify proper routing of documents
Accurately fold and stuff envelopes
Route checks and other miscellaneous mail to the appropriate areas
Type letters and re-route undeliverable mail

Transaction Processing

Manage all transactions throughout the lifecycle of a bond, including new business, cancellations, reinstatements, amendments, and related updates
Communicate with agents via email to deliver required documentation and respond to inquiries
Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all processing activities

Required Skills and Knowledge- Mail Clerk / Transaction Processor

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

Proven ability to troubleshoot and use available resources to resolve issues independently
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
Effective multitasking and time management skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially in ambiguous situations
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute

Benefits and Pay - Mail Clerk / Transaction Processor

Work Environment

Starting Wage: $19 / hr
This is a full-time, in-office position located at our Des Moines, IA location
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
