Full Job Description

Are you interested in helping founders and businesses understand how people use their products?

Do you enjoy turning user behaviour into insights, identifying opportunities for growth, and helping teams make better decisions with data?

If so, this opportunity may be a good fit for you.

We are looking for a freelance Product Data Analyst who can work with founders, startups, and growing businesses on one or multiple projects. This is a remote role that is open to applicants globally.

You will work primarily with Amplitude to implement tracking, analyse user behaviour, build reports, and help businesses understand what is happening inside their products.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Product Data Analyst, you may be asked to:

Set up and validate event tracking
Implement analytics on websites and applications
Build funnels and user journey analyses
Create behavioural cohorts and audience segments
Monitor data quality and tracking accuracy
Build dashboards and reports
Identify trends, opportunities, and areas of friction within products
Present findings and recommendations to founders and business stakeholders

You may work on a single project or support multiple businesses at the same time, depending on project availability and your capacity.

What We Are Looking For

You do not need to be an expert.

However, you should be:

Comfortable learning new tools and systems
Curious about user behaviour and business performance
Able to work independently
Detail-oriented
Comfortable communicating insights clearly
Interested in product analytics and measurement

Experience with analytics tools is helpful, but a willingness to learn and apply concepts correctly is equally important.

Amplitude Is Required

This role is centred around Amplitude.

You will be expected to use Amplitude to implement tracking, analyse user behaviour, create reports, and support client projects.

As part of the application process, you will complete a practical Amplitude assessment.

The purpose of the assessment is not to test advanced analytics skills. It is designed to verify that you understand the fundamental concepts of implementation, event tracking, funnels, cohorts, and basic product analysis.

To complete the assessment, applicants will use an Amplitude Plus environment.

This allows us to verify that you can correctly:

Connect a website to Amplitude
Send events successfully
View those events within your workspace
Create basic analyses using real event data

The assessment is intended to evaluate practical competency and does not constitute employment, consulting work, or a paid project.

Free Amplitude Training

All applicants who proceed through the process will be required to attend a compulsory Amplitude training session.

The training is provided at no cost.

Its purpose is to ensure that every analyst working on client projects has a strong understanding of analytics implementation, reporting, event tracking, and product measurement fundamentals.
