Job Description:
The Programmer Analyst plans, designs, leads, analyzes, codes, tests, documents, and implements functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems of high complexity. This individual will be responsible for custom application development & integration for business functions including Finance, Human Resources and related back-office operations. These initiatives will be done in accordance with department policies, procedures, and standards to support information systems development and maintenance.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

Provide technical leadership by establishing architecture standards, reusable artifacts, development patterns, roadmaps, and best practices while promoting knowledge sharing and solution consistency across teams

Collaborate with business stakeholders, internal teams, and external vendors to deliver successful integration and application initiatives
-
Design, architect, develop, test, document, integrate, and deploy complex enterprise applications and solutions that meet business requirements
-
Design and implement event-driven architectures leveraging message brokers, event streaming platforms, publish/subscribe patterns, and asynchronous communication frameworks to enable scalable and resilient enterprise integrations
-
Design and implement AI-enabled integration solutions utilizing large language models (LLMs), intelligent agents, vector-based knowledge retrieval, and workflow automation technologies to improve business processes and operational efficiency

Lead API lifecycle management including API design, versioning, security, governance, developer enablement, and monitoring best practices
-
Assume responsibility for application support and immediate response to production program problems

Plan and manage project activities, resource allocation, schedules, and effort estimates to ensure successful delivery

Provide technical assistance to other developers and systems analysts when needed

Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports

Create, assign and verify internal and external tracking links

Assume responsibility for the content of formal design reviews
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
-
8 or more years of related experience – in an IT development organization – recommended
-
4+ years of advanced integration implementation/maintenance with industry standard integration products, preferably WSO2, MuleSoft, TIBCO
-
Advanced industry experience providing technical solutions development for enterprise software or hosted high-tech services using .NET or Java
-
Advanced experience in Application Development using Microservices, ESB, and SOA/EAI technologies and API management
-
Experience with enterprise message brokers and event streaming technologies such as Kafka, Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS/SNS, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, or equivalent.

Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures, asynchronous integrations, and real-time data processing solutions.

Experience implementing API-first integration architectures and modern API management platforms.

Professional experience with continuous integration

Exposure to either AWS or Azure
-
Experience with Database platforms: SQL Server, MongoDB, DB2

General understanding of technology infrastructure and application performance monitoring
