At ICF Next Government, we partner with federal clients to modernize digital services through human-centered design. We are seeking a UX Designer to support the design and evolution of federal websites and digital products as part of cross‑functional delivery teams.
This role is suited for a mid-career UX professional who can contribute to UX/UI delivery within Agile, DevSecOps-enabled programs and support user-centered transformation of legacy systems into modern, scalable platforms.
This is a hybrid position, located in the metro DC area. Occasional onsite work is required.

UX/UI Design & User-Centered Modernization
Translate complex business processes, technical constraints, and mission requirements into intuitive UX/UI solutions for enterprise users (e.g., personnel vetting, adjudication workflows).
Usability Testing & UX Research Integration
UX Measurement & Data-Driven Design
Analyze UX metrics (e.g., task success, feature adoption, workflow completion) to inform design decisions and continuous improvement.
Agile Product & DevSecOps Collaboration
Design System & Consistency
Documentation, Training & User Support
Produce clear UX/UI documentation, including design specifications, interaction patterns, and user guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Top Secret security clearance
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience designing for complex, multi-step workflows or enterprise applications.
Experience working on federal or highly regulated systems (e.g., DoD, security, or identity platforms).

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$89,261.00 - $222,169.00
