Job Overview

Job Purpose

The Regional Datacenter Lead oversees day-to-day and strategic field operations across multiple datacenter installation projects within the assigned region.

This role provides senior-level technical expertise, formal leadership, and operational oversight for all Lead Datacenter Technicians, Infrastructure Technicians, and subcontracted personnel.

The Regional Lead ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards, electrical codes, and customer requirements. This position requires a licensed Master Electrician, capable of supervising electrical work, securing and managing permits, and serving as the authoritative regional escalation point for electrical and infrastructure-related matters.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The following is an overview of the responsibilities of the Regional Datacenter Lead required for this position but does not represent full breadth of activities:

Regional Leadership & Operations Oversight

· Partner with the Director of Data Center Deployments to lead, manage, and develop teams of Lead Datacenter Technicians and Infrastructure Technicians across multiple simultaneous projects.

· Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, and regional resource allocation.

· Ensure regional adherence to installation standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations.

· Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with electrical codes, workmanship standards, and project specifications.

· Serve as the senior regional point of contact for escalations, technical decisions, and customer coordination.

Electrical Authority & Permitting

· Apply Master Electrician credentials to supervise electrical installations, ensure code compliance, and oversee power distribution system deployments.

· Manage permitting processes including applications, inspections, and sign‑offs with local AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).

· Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, state, and local requirements.

· Provide guidance on electrical design intent, grounding, PDUs, whips, busway interfaces, and related systems.

Technical Execution & Quality Assurance

· Provide advanced technical leadership on datacenter infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, structured cabling, rack systems, containment, and pathways.

· Review engineering documents, project plans, and installation drawings for accuracy and constructability.

· Ensure all testing, inspections, and QA/QC processes are followed and documented.

· Support technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for field issues.

Project Coordination & Communication

· Partner with the Director of Data Center Deployments to align manpower, schedules, and deliverables.

· Ensure regional teams complete project documentation, daily reports, and material tracking.

· Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and OEM partners.

· Support scope verification, change order development, and punch list closure.

Safety Leadership

· Drive a strong safety culture across regional field teams.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and PPE standards.

· Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and incident reviews.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· Master Electrician license (active and in good standing in at least one applicable state).

· 7+ years of experience in datacenter, commercial electrical, or industrial electrical environments

· 3+ years of formal leadership experience overseeing field teams, crews, or regional operations.

· Advanced understanding of datacenter power distribution, grounding, and electrical systems.

· Ability to obtain and manage electrical permits and interface with local AHJs.

· OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

· Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and datacenter construction

documents.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively across the region.

· Ability to lift/carry 50+ lbs and safely work at heights and in confined spaces.

Preferred

· Experience overseeing multi-site or large-scale datacenter buildouts.

· Familiarity with OEM systems (Vertiv, APC, Chatsworth, Panduit, Starline, etc.).

· BICSI certification (Installer 2, Technician, or equivalent).

· Experience working with structured cabling testing tools (OTDR, TDR, certifiers).

· Project management exposure (scheduling, documentation, resource planning).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Field-based position requiring travel to project sites within 500-mile radius of Dallas (typically 4-8 overnight trips per month, as an average). Work performed in active datacenter environments with strict safety and access protocols. Schedule varies based on project demands; some weekend or off-hours work may be required to accommodate customer operations.

Pay: $56.00 - $58.00 per hour
