Full Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Office Assistant/Sales Associate at the Mountain City location supports daily retail and office operations with a strong emphasis on customer service, sales support, and administrative tasks. This position serves as a vital link between customers and the co-op team, ensuring a seamless shopping and service experience while contributing to the store’s success through organization, communication, and product knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet customers, provide assistance, and answer questions about products and services.

Operate point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.

Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.

Support sales efforts by maintaining product displays and signage.

Process invoices, returns, and special orders in coordination with office staff.

Answer phones, direct calls, and provide general administrative support.

Assist with preparation of daily deposits and basic bookkeeping.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of both front-of-store and office areas.

Coordinate with other team members and departments to meet customer needs.

Help track customer accounts and assist with customer service requests.

Provide support for seasonal promotions, events, and in-store displays.

Maintain knowledge of farm supply products and services to better assist customers.

Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Basic math and computer skills.

Familiarity with agricultural products and farm operations is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQURIEMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field preferred.

Two or more years of experience in a retail, office, or farm-related setting is preferred.

Experience using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to freely move around the facility and grounds.

· Ability to repeatedly bend, crouch, kneel, stand, reach, grasp, crawl, walk, lift, push, pull, or climb.

· Ability to operate all equipment safely and properly.

· Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds.
