Full Job Description

Job Summary
Join a mission-driven team dedicated to improving health and quality of life in New Mexico. Apply to be the Project Management Office Director and help to revolutionize healthcare across the state. SYNCRONYS, a New Mexico not for profit organization, is at the forefront of health and technology serving as a critical hub for secure, reliable health information, driving better clinical outcomes. SYNCRONYS is New Mexico's Health Data Network, connecting healthcare, public health and community partners through a trusted, statewide, Health Data Utility Model. Operating the state's designated health information exchange and a suite of other solutions, SYNCRONYUS enables secure, equitable and accountable data for a comprehensive view of individual and population health for New Mexicans.

The Director Project Management Office leads and manages the Project Management Office (PMO) ensuring project alignment with organizational initiatives and priorities. The director will optimize PMO processes, develop project management standards and manage project portfolios to drive successful project delivery. The Director provides leadership and guidance to the PMO team. The Director ensures that projects align with strategic goals are delivered on time and within budget and meet or exceed quality standards. The PMO Director owns cross-departmental strategic initiatives and manages high-stakes enterprise projects, federal/state grant delivery schedules, and high-level platform projects while managing and escalating risk.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the development and implementation of the project management office activities and processes to support SYNCRONYS strategic initiatives and priorities. Ensure projects are strategically aligned and successfully completed by identifying and prioritizing enterprise-wide projects in the portfolio. Partner with cross-functional leaders to define project scopes, goals, deliverables, timeframes and success criteria. Support the development of business cases and project proposals for executive review and project approval.

2. Responsible for establishing and maintaining PMO processes, systems, methodologies, templates and standards. Monitor project performance, identify risk and implement mitigation strategies. Oversees compliance with management standards and best practices. Ensures the appropriate selection and implementation of project management tools and technologies.

3. Will lead and manage the PMO team, providing guidance, coaching and oversight. Establish performance metrics for PMO team. Motivate, direct and develop the PMO team, to include recruitment, training, performance management and stakeholder engagement.

4. Monitor and report on project performance and strategic alignment to executive leadership. Responsible for communicating project status, risks and issues to SYNCRONYS leadership, partners and customers. Manage customer expectations and ensure alignment of project goals. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, customers and partners. Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve project-related conflicts.

5. Oversee the prioritization, scheduling and resource allocation for projects and programs across the organization. Manage project resources, including personnel and tools, to align with the project scope, requirements and budget. Optimize resource allocation across enterprise projects to maximize efficiency and productivity. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to meet the expected outcomes.

6. Lead initiatives to improve project management maturity and capability across the organization for continuous improvement:

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance PMO effectiveness.

· Stay up to date with industry’s best practices and emerging trends in project management.

· Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the PMO.

· Drive organizational change management efforts associated with project delivery.

· Serve as the internal subject matter expert for project management best practices.

7. Financial Responsibilities: Develop and manage the department’s budget, including revenue projections and the budget for SYNCRONYS events. Ensure cost effective project execution.

8. Supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to recruiting, hiring, training, conducting performance evaluations, overseeing daily workflow, establishing policies and procedures, and performance management in accordance with SYNCRONYS’ policies and procedures.

Experience

10 years or more of experience in project management, program management, including at least 5 years of managing a PMO or similar leadership role.

Leadership & Management Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve project issues and conflicts.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement PMO strategies that align with organizational goals.

Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes, financial management, and organizational structure. Experience in managing project budgets and forecasting.

Preferred Experience:

· Health Care experience of 2+ years

· 5+ years PMO director experience. Strong portfolio of successfully delivered enterprise-level projects

· Extensive experience working closely with C-level executives to make crucial company decisions

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, business administration, project management).

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Medical Informatics, Engineering, Health Information Technology or related field of study. PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant project management certifications. PMI Agile Certified Practitioner and/or Professional Scrum Master. ITIL certification (or a commitment to pursue certification).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
