Full Job Description

The Spec

· We're seeking an exceptional Team Lead - the Senior Director of Engineering to steer our engineering and product development team to the next level. A commercially-minded technologist who can bridge day-to-day engineering management with long-term strategic thinking. Ownership, leadership, and the desire to foster excellence are key – as well as mighty coding skills.

The Job:

Owning the Development & QA functions for our leading edge SaaS products, you’ll spearhead engineering excellence through a hands on approach to drive continuous enhancements and improvements to our offering.
Accountable for the stability, security, scalability, and continuous improvement of our core SaaS platform, whilst building a high-performing engineering culture and driving the modernisation of legacy components within our technology estate
You’ll work closely with peers in product management and executive leadership to deliver high value, high quality product releases and exceptional customer experience.
You'll establish engineering standards, drive architectural decisions, and ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and reliable as we evolve the current stack (React 16, Ant Design 5, Semantic UI, C#, Azure Functions & Microservices, SQL Server) and lead the strategic migration away from legacy Classic ASP.
You'll own non-functional roadmaps for each product and work with product management to build and execute development plans that allocate capacity with intentionality in line with product and broader company strategy objectives.
You’ll have the ability to efficiently and effectively translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and communicate these clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

You :

You’re Hands On.
You’re a commercially-minded technologist who can bridge day-to-day engineering management with long-term strategic thinking.
You have 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles with a management component. You don’t need to have been the boss, you just needed to know you could have done it better than your boss.
You've built and scaled engineering stacks with a broad and deep expertise across diverse technology stacks and tools and processes supporting and enabling agile development best practice.
Your track record includes successfully delivering complex, FinTech products on time & on budget while maintaining operational excellence.
You can inspire teams, develop talent, and drive accountability.
You have strong technical judgment and can make sound architectural decisions while staying close enough to the code to guide your teams effectively & efficiently to balance innovation with pragmatic delivery
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern observability tools is essential and you should have experience driving the usage of AI tooling to add tangibly value within an SDLC context.
You communicate complex technical concepts clearly and thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.

In An Ideal World:

Experience with specific technologies in our stack, prior work in our industry vertical, or a background scaling SaaS organizations through hyper-growth phases would be particularly valuable.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field is strongly preferred – there’s a reason you chose Comp Sci.In an Ideal World

We are based in Stamford, Connecticut - if you’re within driving distance of our offices we’d love to see you in office. If not, we can collaborate online. Our only ask is that you’re available during EST hours.
